My grief is a bone numbing confusion
Too deep to be felt It hums in my body Paralyzing action Desires fade to this Dissonance Defies comprehension And so cannot be felt Remains to buzz around No escaping Until my plans fall dormant In your grasp The work continues My thoughts remain in Quiet confusion A valley away tonight What truth be told Once we awake, we fall down in deep silence, the voices descend on their own they descend

I just watched a perfect moment role by me
Young lovers sharing a evening scooter ride through winding suberban lanes Softly lit in the streetlight glow They don’t know it now Their perfect moment Even if it’s clear upon their face “Do you like my room?” Sally asked with a flourish and Ben flopped onto the bed. “Well it’s a room.” “Its more than a room!” She replied with energy. “It’s a college dorm. Hell it’s the same one as mine up 10 floors cept I have a better few.” “Well I have a pretty good view as well.” She said, looking around. “What, into that concrete wall?” Ben asked, looking out the window. “Well no, but the painting.” Sally had moved to stand next to it, it’s floor to ceiling height swallowing her up. “Oh yea. Is that supposed to be a view?” Ben said, turning around to look at it. “It’s Florence! Anyone could see that.” Sally retorted with an air of superiority. “Anyone.” Ben sarcastically agreed. “Did you go to the game last night?” Silence. “Well…?” Sally asked expectantly. “Well what?” “Do you like it?” “No we lost.” Ben looked genuinely sad at the memory. “I meant the painting!” Sally shot back. “Have you ever been to Florence?” “Of course I have! Thats when I did it!” She smiled smugly. “Oh of course. Well I’d sure love to look out of a window in Florence.” Under his breath Ben murmured. “Apparently it looks just like the concrete wall outside of New Rez.” (ps. Did you paint that? It’s terrible.) |
